Last night at John Albro Lodge No. 122 in Bedford was so special. The evening embodied the very essence of Masonry, a perfect blend of brotherhood, tradition, and meaningful moments.
The advance billing was humble: "Yeah, no degree. Business meeting. Prove a couple EAs. Oh, and we have a presentation. Should be quick." Ok, simple enough, until the night unfolded into something quite greater.
Brothers Derick Zimmerman and Sal Vazquez set the bar high with an exemplary EA proving, demonstrating not only mastery of the work, but delivering it with remarkable ease and fluidity. A well-earned salute to them and their mentor, Brother Jamie Benoit, for showcasing what meticulous preparation looks like.
The lodge was then called to refreshment for a special occasion - the family of Brother Georges Yaacoub was invited into the lodge including his wife, children, and also his parents who traveled from Lebanon for the event. His father, Brother Nicolas Yaacoub, presented Georges with his grandfather’s Masonic ring and Lewis jewel, an emotional and deeply significant moment. The pride in Brother Georges' eyes, mirrored by his father and family, was undeniable. George's young son Nicholas, was there to witness it all - a future Prince of Freemasonry in the making. We captured memories with photos and indulged in delicious Baklava before his beautiful family retired.
Back to work, the business meeting brought discussions of the lodge’s many initiatives. From upcoming events aimed at engaging members to community service projects, enthusiasm filled the room. The August golf tournament, which supports their scholarship program, was a key highlight, along with many other meaningful gatherings planned for the near future.
There was an undeniable energy in the lodge - focused, organized, yet full of vibrancy. John Albro Lodge No. 122 was alive with the spirit of Masonry. Well done, brethren!
