Good morning Sister and Brothers, a historic even took place the last day of January 2025.

Sister Irma Reeves was presented with her 80-year jewel , to my knowledge the First in the Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Sister Irma joined what was then Cedar Chapter # 3 under the jurisdiction of the General Grand Chapter. Irma was 18 years old when she was initiated on May 4,1944.. The Worthy Matron at the time was her Mother Sister Annie Langille. Her Father was not able to be there as he was serving our country, Canada, in World War 2.

A number of members of Cedar Atlantic # 3 in Wallace, NS and members of her family went to her place of residence in East Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash NS to make the presentation.

Sister Margie Allen presented the 80-year jewel to Sister Irma who is a young 98-year-old member. Brother Lloyd Brown , WP of Cedar Atlantic presenting our 80-year certificate to Sister Irma .Sister Marianne MacMillian presented Sister Irma with a bouquet of Flowers. The WM Sister Marion Durling, PGM was unable to be there but sent a letter of congratulations to Irma. Sister Shirley Blair, did a little homework and revealed the ages of those attending the presentation at the time Siter Irma was initiated. Brother Lloyd was 11, Sister Margie was 6, Sister Shirley was 7 and Sister Marianne was not yet born. Attached are some pictures. The gentleman in the picture wearing the plaid shirt is Irma’s nephew Jerry Langille.
